Membership With TST Houston
Hello and thank you for your interest in The Satanic Temple Houston Congregation!
Before applying for membership, if you haven’t already, we highly encourage you to take some time to get to know The Satanic Temple and familiarize yourself with our mission, tenets, and ongoing campaigns.
For those not quite ready to jump into membership, we offer Virtual Open Office. These virtual events are typically held on the first Thursday of each month, and are a great way to get to know us better and ask any questions you might have.
We also have a monthly Beezlebook Club, where we read and discuss Satanic literature. These events are a great opportunity to meet us in person and learn more about our beliefs and values.
Regarding membership, we currently offer two levels: Affiliate Membership and Active Membership. All members start as Affiliate Members and may have the option to become Active members.
Affiliate Membership provides a great deal of flexibility for those who want to be part of the community but cannot make the time commitment to regularly attend meetings or help with events. With affiliate membership, you will not have voting rights, but you will still receive updates and invitations to events.
Active Membership is for those who want to be actively involved in the congregation. It requires a time commitment of regularly attending monthly congregation meetings and helping with various projects and events. With Active Membership, you’ll also have voting rights, which gives you a say in initiatives and events. If there’s a specific community event you’d like us to participate in, you’ll be expected to assist with organization and logistics.
Regardless of your membership level, all members are expected to treat each other with respect and kindness. Racism, misogyny, antisemitism, bigotry, transphobia, homophobia, sexual harrasment, or any form of hate speech or discriminatory behavior towards any individual or group of people is strictly prohibited and will NOT be tolerated, under any circumstances. We take these matters very seriously and do not offer second chances in these cases.
